Norma Pimentel, Executive Director of Catholic Charities Rio Grande Valley to Speak at Fundraiser for Diocesan Migrant & Refugee Services (DMRS)
El Paso, TX – February 5, 2016 – Members of the El Paso community will be gathering on Thursday, February 25th, 2016 at 5:30pm in support of DMRS at their Annual Fundraiser to be held at the El Paso Convention Center.
This year’s keynote speaker will be Sister Norma Pimentel, Executive Director of Catholic Charities Rio Grande Valley. A strong advocate for immigrants, Sister Norma and Catholic Charities provide hospitality and other assistance to the thousands of migrants who have been entering the United States since 2014, fleeing violence and poverty in Central America. She was recently featured on the ABC News 20/20 Special created in anticipation of the Pope’s visit to Philadelphia this past September.
Individual tickets for the fundraiser, to include dinner and silent auction, may be purchased for $100; tables seating 10 may be purchased for $1,000. DMRS is also seeking Sponsorships from local businesses and organizations at the following levels: $1,500 (Silver), $2,000 (Gold), and $3,000 (Platinum).
DMRS is an incorporated ministry of the Diocese of El Paso and the only full-service free and low-cost immigration legal services provider for indigent and low-income families within El Paso County and surrounding areas. This year DMRS will be celebrating 30 years of service to the region’s immigrant population.
